There are two categories of searches on this site. Non Database/Text: This search will look through the non-database pages on this site, writeups on memorials and battles, for example. This search should not be used to look for details about soldiers. Database: This is the primary search facility. There are currently over 81,000 entries in the database. The ability to search the database for information has been divided into the following areas. - General SearchThis page provides searches through the database of soldiers, displaying what information is currently available. This page provides searches through the database of soldiers using the standard criteria of regimental number and name, displaying what information is currently available. If you know the regimental number or the name, this is the fastest way to retrieve the information. This page provides the ability to display soldiers for particular Regiments/Battalions This page provides the ability to display soldiers who died in the Great War by Regiments/Battalions This page provides searches through the database of soldiers and through all War Diary entries using the entered criteria, displaying what information is currently available. Since this is the most comprehensive search, it is also the slowest. This page provides the ability to search through letters and newspapers. This page provides the ability to search for ranges of regimental numbers This page provides the ability to search for soldiers by the cemetery they are buried in. This page provides the ability to search for Awards and Decorations that were earned by Canadians during the war. This page will display the names of Canadians who were executed for desertion or cowardice during the Great War. You must be registered and logged in to insert a new soldier intot he database.
