Description: Following an offensive this Officer showed great resource and courage in directing the work of carrying out wounded, going repeatedly into the Advanced positions and "No Man's Land" in doing so. Notwithstanding the difficulties which frequent shelling added to the task, he succeeded in clearing the sector allotted to him. He remained on duty voluntarily for several hours with a small party after the balance of his Company had been dismissed, and worked with the utmost disregard for his personal safety for 21 consecutive hours.
