There is an anomaly regarding his date of birth as his Attestation Paper states 14 December 1886. However, this is definitely incorrect as the BMD Birth Index registers him in the January - March quarter of 1883, and the records of Bollington National Boys School (which he attended) shows it as 03 December 1882.
