Description: At Passchendaele on November 6th 1917, this N.C.O. was senior N.C.O. left in his platoon. He assumed full charge during the attack showing conspicuous gallantry and performing consistent good work throughout. During and after the work of consolidation he acted as orderly N.C.O. keeping in touch with Company H.Q. and being always on the alert to do a little more than his set duty. His steadiness and cheerful disposition had an excellent effect upon the men.
