Son of Hans Peter Hansen, of Vester Alle, Villa Thurn, Hasseris, Aalborg, Denmark.

Info on Danish born Miramichi soldiers reviewed and corrected by LCol Gorm Martin Larsen, Danish Army, while in Kabul in Apr 2012. Thanks Gorm.

Uploader's Research notes:

Danish sailor who was recruited in Chatham and enrolled in the Canadian army in Sussex. It appears that he may have been only 16 yrs old when he enrolled (it appears that he changed his year of birth from 1900 to 1896). He had the flag and ensign of Denmark, along with the head and shoulder of a girl, tattooed on his right forearm.

Update: Kristian was only 16 when he joined the army. The CWGC records and his grave marker both note that his was 17 when he was killed.
