This is a transcription of the first postcard sent home by Private Cushnie, probably shortly after he enlisted.  It was addressed to Mr. Geo. Cushnie.

Guelph, Tues Eve

Dear People:-

     We’ll be home by 1.30 or night train.  Couldn’t see the officer tonight
