Major A. E. Kimmins indicated on his military attestation that he had 14 years prior military experience with the Wentworth 77th Regiment. The 77th men were transferred to the 1st Battalion C.E.F. while they were at training in Valcartier, Quebec.
Major Kimmins was killed in action at the 2nd battle of Ypres. He left behind a wife and two children.
