From Granddaughter Edith Rose Hills

Sidney Rose was Born June 9 1897 from Batizmal records at St Alban Anglican Church. He Was born in Scotstown to Greorge and Grace Rose and was a farm labourer on his father farm near Scotstown.

At enlistment he was Eighteen years and Seven months old. His weight was 164 lbs. 5ft 10inches in height and chest measurements were 35 inches and expansion of 3 inches. He was a member of the Church of England. He enlisted at Sherbrooke on Jan. 10 1916.

He served with 117th Battalion and 148th Battalion and finally to 24 Battalion Nov. 28 1916 serving in France.

He was wounded during the battle of Vimy Ridge
on April 8 and April19.
He was not a prisoner of war. Died at age of 24.
He is buried in plot 12 F at River View Cemetery Scotstown
