On night 15-16/8/17 on Hill 70, this N.C.O. was in command of a platoon. The Battalion was relieving the 7th Canadian Infantry Battalion in the Front Line. This N.C.O. displayed extraordinary courage and energy under very trying circumstances, and not only got his platoon into position but assisted two other platoons.
His cheerfulness and coolness set a splendid example to his men.
