From 14/8/17 to 18/8/17 on Hill 70, this soldier was employed as company runner, he made numerous trips under very heavy shell and machine gun fire. He did his work most cheerfully, and with an utter disregard for his personal safety. He not only acted as runner, but carried supplies forward to the men in advance of the CHALK PIT under very heavy shrapnel fire.
