On 15/8/17 on Hill 70, this soldier when a No. 2 of a LEWIS GUN section, handled his gun fearlessly inflicting many losses on the enemy.
On 16/8/17 the No. 1 of the Gun section was wounded this soldier advanced with his gun passed through the CHALK PIT and established a post beyond. He was a splendid example to all.
