Born May 13, 1894, at Clonmel, Ireland. Father, F. E. Tydd, LL.B., T.C.D. Educated at Portora Royal School, Enniskillen, Ireland. Entered the service of the Bank, 16th February, 1912. Enlisted, September, 1914, from Strathcona branch, in 31st Battalion. Transferred to The Royal Irish Regiment, 16th February, 1916, as Second Lieutenant. Promoted Lieutenant, 16th September, 1917. Service: On active service with his Battalion in France, and with Army of Occupation in Germany, 1918-19. Severely wounded at Ypres, January, 1917.
