Description: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He led forward a patrol over most difficult ground and rushed and captured an enemy post. He showed splendid courage and skill both during this enterprise and during several difficult reconnaissance's which he carried out previously.

RESEARCH INFORMATION
He was appointed a temporary commission as 2nd Lieutenant to 15th Bn Middlesex Regt on 26.08.15. Transferred to Training Reserve and appointed Acting Lieutenant on 01.09.16. Acting Captain on 21.04. 17. Promoted Lieutenant on 01.07.19. Relinquished Acting rank of Captain on 01.11.17 and transfered to the Middlesex Regiment (no indication of which battalion - there were 46 of them at one stage!) Released from the army on 12.04.19.
After winning the MC he was taken prisoner, a letter exonerating him from any blame was sent to him after his release from the army!
In March 1919 he married Elizabeth Woolwich, less than 12 months later they had a son, also Harry.
