CEF Burial Registers - Killed in Action - He was with his Company in action at Festubert on May 22nd, 1915, when about 11 a.m. the trench they occupied was subjected to a very severe bombardment and Captain McMeans was hit by a pice of a large enemy shell, which passed through his head causing instantaneous death.
