Sailed with the 101st Battalion aboard SS Olympic from Halifax to Liverpool, June 28 to July 06, 1916. The battalion was posted to East Sandling Camp on arrival in England.
Private Army Canadian Infantry 17th Reserve Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 46th Battalion Proceeded to France on being posted to the 46th Battalion, and attache3d to the Canadian Base Depot on arrival in France. On October 01 he joined the 46th Battalion at Eperleques. Private Army Canadian Infantry 24th BattalionJoined the 24th Battalion on October 08, 1916 at Herteaucourt.
May 02, 1917 attached for duty to 1st Army Infantry School. Granted leave to England from September 17-27, 1917. He ceased to be attached on March 10, 1918 and rejoined the 24th Battalion four days later at Lozinghem
He was killed in action near Wailly Forest, Mercatel during a trench raid on the morning of May 27, 1918.
