CEF Burial Registers - 'Died of Wounds - during operations for assembly, preparatory to an attack on Marquion Line, an enemy shell exploded near him in the trench. He was wounded in the upper part of the left arm, left thigh, legs and left foot. He received immediate attention and was taken to 3/2nd West Lancashire Field Ambulance, but died shortly after admission.'
