Son of Martin McArthur and Maria Grace McArthur (nee Hobbs)

A fractured ankle wound suffered on April 25, 1915 continued to plague him through 1917 and he was in and out of hospitals several times

While on duty as a Battalion runner, during operations near Marcelcave, he was hit in the heart and instantly killed by an enemy rifle bullet.
