I am unsure of rank in various assignments in the UK. I am unsure whether he had any Battalion command other than the 113th Battalion. I might guess he would not take a reduction in rank and as a result was not sent to France in a command position. I am also unsure whether he did any service in the Royal Welch Fusiliers or whether he was given the Territorial Decoration for past service.
