Son of Albert E. and Elizabeth H. Fryers, of 390, Delaware Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. He was killed in action about 3 PM on the 26th when he and Sergeant A. L. Robinson, #58033, were killed in a "funk hole" by a "fishtail". This is described in the 20th Battalion's War Diary of that date.

In Memoriam Notice, Toronto Star, 07 February 1918, pg. 15:

FRYERS--Killed in action "somewhere in France," on Jan. 26, 1918. 228032 Pte. Ernest Albert Fryers, 20th Battalion, Canadians, aged 19 years, only and dearly beloved son of A. E. and E. H. Fryers, 390 Delaware ave., Toronto.
