Son of David and Martha Flowerday. By 1901 the father David had died and the Widowed Martha had moved to Haven Haverfordwest Pembrokeshire Wales with her 3 Children.On 28 May 1910 a 13 year old Charles leaves Liverpool on the ship Sicilian and arrives at Quebec City on 10 June 1910 with a Party of Barnardo Home Children bound for Toronto. In 1911 Charles Ambrose Flowerday is a Labourer in the home of Mary and Ezra Trumm in Gainsboro Lincoln Ontario. Charles enlisted with the Barrie Headquartered 157th Canadian Infantry Battalion (called Simcoe Foresters) in December of 1915. The 157th Battalion arrived in England on 28 October 1916 and this battalion was broken up and Pte Charles Flowerday was posted to the 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion( from Western Ontario) effective 28 Nov 1916. Former Barnardo Home Child Private Charles Ambrose Flowerday was first repoted missing the confirmed Killed in Action near Vimy Ridge on 9 April 1917.

His Circumstances of Casualty form lists him as a Methodist rather than a Presbyterian.
