Gunner Hiely McSpadden / Star basketball player and leading batter in the city baseball league during his last season here, who was killed in action at the front on Oct. 22.

Gunner McSpadden was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends, and his work on the baseball diamond and in basketball games was always followed with the greatest of interest. He was a good, clean, manly sport, and his loss will be keenly felt. The sympathy of the sport fans of this city goes out to Lieut. McSpadden, wo is left to mourn the demise of his gallant son.
