Son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gordon Cumming of Dinwoodie, Lockerbie, Scotland; husband of Mrs. A. Cumming of 2421 - 24A St., Glengarry, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In his military files at the LAC in Ottawa, Robert Cumming was 'fit'. He had a ruddy complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair and was 32 years old. His left testicle was absent and considered to be undescended. He had previous experience with the 2nd Dragoon Guards in England for 9 months. He sailed on the SS Tuscania.
He immigrated to Canada in 1904. He and his wife had two children according to the 1911 census: Robert, 5 years of age and Jemima: 3.
He is commemorated on the Scarboro United Church stained glass window in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
