Thomas and Charlotte were married 5 May 1889 in Norwich Norfolk and Thomas Edward Ward was dead by 1901 and Charlotte Jane Ward married William Walker in 1916).Charles Ward lived in Dr Barnardo s Baby Castle( Orphanage)in 1901 in Norwich Norfolk England then he left Liverpool on 11 October 1906 as a 10 year old Barnardo Home Child on the ship Dominion that arrived in Quebec City on 21 October 1906 with final Destination Barnardo Homes in Toronto.(Donald Herbert Ward younger brother of Charles Ward was former Royal Navy who came to Canada in 1913 and joined the 20th Battalion CEF in Toronto on 5 April 1915 as 58310 Donald Herbert Ward). Charles Ward was an 18 year old living in the Barnardo Home in Barrie Ontario when he joined the Barrie Headquartered 157th (Simcoe Foresters) Battalion on 31 January 1916. The 157th Canadian Infantry Battalion sailed for England on the SS Cameronian on 18 October 1916 where it was broken up.Private Charles Ward is transferred to the 8th Reserve Battalion. On 9 August 1918 former Barnardo Home Child Private Charles Ward dies a member of the 4th Canadian Infantry Battalion Central Ontario Regiment.
