Son of Philip Wilfrid Friedley of Winslow, England; husband of Jessie Friedley
Earl was working as a cook when he enlisted at Saskatoon in 1916 but was released October 5, 1916 five months later as Medically Unfit. Nevertheless, by this time married and farming out of Moose Jaw, he was drafted in 1918 and died of pneumonia three months later while on harvest leave.
