[Private Army Canadian Infantry 92nd Battalion Machine Gun Section Sailed with 92nd Battalion aboard SS Empress of Britain from Halifax to Liverpool, May 22-29, 1916. The battalion was posted to East Sandling Camp on arrival in England.
Sergeant Army Canadian Infantry 26th Battalion

Proceeded to France on being posted. Attached to Canadian Base Depot, Havre on arrival in France. Joined the 26th Battalion at Alberta Camp on July 23.

February 06, 1917, reported sick to 6th Field Ambulance. After a short time at a convalescents depot, he was attached to the 2nd Entrenching Battalion on March 31. He rejoined the 26th Battalion at Maisnil Bouche on September 11. He was granted leave to England from October 26 to November 05. A week after he returned, he was promoted to Sergeant.

Attached to the Officers Training School, Bexhill from February 02 to April 27. On being commissioned he was discharged from the CEF as an enlisted rank.

Proceeded to France on being posted. Joined the 15th Battalion at Berneville on September 03.

He was killed in action at Marquion during the attack on the Canal du Nord.
