Son of Donald MacPhail and Christina MacPhail; husband of Louisa B. MacPhail, of 35, King St. West, Kingston, Ontario.

Capt. (Rev.) MacPhail's photo appeared in the Toronto Evening Telegram (see attached) on July 5th, 1918. His trip on the Llandovery Castle was described as his first return trip. He had worked as a Presbyterian minister at Cayuga (Ont.), and went overseas in 1916 as chaplain to the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders.
