Uploader's Notes: CEF Burial Registers - Killed in Action. The Battery to which he belonged was held up by an enemy strong point, while advancing to the attack about noon on September 27, 1918. Two guns were in action and on a call for ammunition Private Capaldi took up two boxes under very heavy enemy rifle and machine gun fire. After delivering these to his gun he was attempting to take cover in a shell hole when he was instantly killed by a machine gun bullet through the right temple. The Officer Commanding describes the action under which he met his death, as indeed a brave one.
