Uploader's Notes: Thomas Hill had 16 years of Military experience with the 49th Regiment of Hastings Rifles before he joined the 59th Battalion of the CEF in Belleville in 1915.He had married Sarah Brant on 17 December 1902 and this couple had five sons before Thomas joined the Canadian Expeditionery Force in 1915.Private Hil arrived in England on 11 April 1916 and was transfered to the 39th then the 21st Battalion in France.Private Hill complained of shortness of breath and was hospitalized in England. He was told he had Dilatation or enlargement of the heart and was invalided back to Canada in March of 1918 for Medical treatment in Kingston Ontario.Private Hill was discharged as Medically Unfit for Military Service as a now 42 year old Soldier on 31 May 1918 in Kingston Ontario with an enlarged heart and shortness of breath. By 1921 Thomas Hill is liveing back on the Tyendinaga Reserve as a Farmer with his wife Sarah, four sons and a 3 day old daughter. Private Thomas Hill death on 6 July 1949 was partially cause by his war injury and a 1916 case of Measles. Uploader's Research notes: Thomas Hill was the son of Henry Hill and Mary Loft who were both Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte First Nation. This Hastings County Indian Reserve is now called Tyendinaga [Not Specified Army ]
