Peterborough Examiner of Dec 14 states: "The death in England of another member of the 93rd Battalion, Pte. W.E. Pear was officially announced from Ottawa yesterday. Pte. Pear was reported dangerously ill several months ago, and no further news was received of him until yesterday's paragraph in the casualty list gave notice of his death."
