Uploader's Research notes: Source: LAC files; See also, HM Urquhart "History of the 16th Battalion", Nominal Roll [Private Army Canadian Infantry Canadian Casualty Assembly Centre Folkestone Diagnosed with Otitis Media and evacuated to hospital in England. Posted to CCAC for administrative purposes while convalescing. On October 30 he was reclassified to light duties for the winter. Four days later he was assigned to the Garrison Depot at Shoreham for duty. On January 08, 1917 he was assigned to the Garrison Duties Company at Crowborough. Two months later he was assigned to the Canadian Engineers Training Depot, Headquarters Company at the same base. Private Army Canadian Infantry 16th Battalion Shortly after arrival in France began having problems due to ear infection. He was medically evacuated back to England. Private Army Canadian Infantry 101st Battalion Sailed to England with the 101st Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 17th Reserve Battalion Private Army Canadian Army Pay Corps 1st Detachment, London Attached to the CAPC, London, for duty on April 03, 1917. With the creation of the regimental depot system, he was posted to the Nova Scotia Regimental Depot for administrative purposes from April 16 to May 24. On that date he was posted to the Manitoba Regimental Depot for administration. He remained attached to CAPC London during this time. On July 27 he was posted to the CAPC for all purposes. On January 16, 1918 he was admitted to the 2nd General Hospital, London, eventually being diagnosed with Infective Endocarditis. He was transferred to Manor War Hospital, Epsom on February 27. By this time his record noted that he was deaf. On April 01 his chart noted him as "Dangerously ill". His condition deteriorated until he died of heart failure on the morning of April 04, 1918. ]
