Mentioned in 3rd Battalion War Diary, February 1, 1915 "Pte Trull of Stretcher Bearers removed to hospital suffering from spinal meningitis - rest of stretcher bearers segregated'. Soldier's records show that he was admitted to the No. 1 Canadian General Hospital at Netheravon on February 1, 1915 as "Seriously ill". Medical record further states "Died No. 1 Can: Gen. Hosp. Netheravon 15/2/15 Meningitis".
