Uploader's Notes: Son of the late Edward and Dorothy Lever Brignall, of Leeds, England. 10 year old Edward Brignall left Liverpool England on 21 May 1908 on the Ship Dominion that arrived in Quebec City on 31 May 1908 with a group of Barnardo children under Mr Loyd that sent the Boys to the Barnardo Homes in Toronto and the girls to the Barnardo Homes in Peterborogh. On 8 November 1916 a 19 year old Edward Arthur Brignall joins the 200th Canadian Infantry Battalion in Winnipeg Manitoba. On 23 January 1917 a 19 year old Private Edward A Brignall catches Pneumonia and is admitted to Winnipeg General Hospital. Former Barnardo child Private Edward Arthur Brignall dies on 23 Jan 1917 and is buried in Winnipeg Brookside Cemetery. The 200th started recruiting in the Winter of 1915 in Winnipeg and sailed from Halifax Nova Scotia on the ship Megantic on 3 May 1917 for England. The 200th Battalion CEF had one Commanding Officer LCL A L Bonnycastle and was absorbed in England into the 11th Reserve Battalion on 14 May 1917.
