Son of Robert H. and Mary E. Garbutt, of Toronto.

"Died of Wounds" Whilst taking part in operations in the vicinity of Aux-Noulette on August 21, 1917 he was severely wounded by an enemy shell, which burst in the road nearby. He was evacuated to No. 23 Casualty Clearing Station, where he succumbed to his wounds two days later.
