Item in Peterborough Examiner of Dec. 3, 1920: "Lieut. Sydney Skinner, brother of Mr. T.H. Skinner, died in Nelson, on Sunday, November 14th. Deceased went overseas with the 45th Battalion of Winnipeg in the capacity of instructor, and while on active service was gassed and wounded. Returning several months before his four brothers, who were also on active service, Lieut. Skinner went to Nelson, B.C., for his health, but never fully recovered from the results of his wounds. He leaves his wife and several children. He was buried with full military honors in Nelson, B.C."
