Son of the late Peter and Clarissa R. Abbott; husband of Laura Ellen Abbott, of 48, Cumberland Avenue, Hamilton, Ont.
Sailed to England at the end of October 1916 with the 133rd Battalion. Transferred to the 37th Battalion once in England, then to several reserve battalions and finally sent to France with the 73rd Company CFC. He came down with bladder problems near the end of the war and was hospitalized in England at Canada for treatment until June 1919 when he was then discharged.
