Son of John Henry and Letitia Brown, of Aurora, Ont.
Wounded in the foot at Ypres in April 1915. there was an inquiry to determine if it was accidental or self inflicted. Suffered from syphilis, typhoid, broken arm and finally invalided to Canada in January 1918 with tuberculosis. He died in Spadina Military Hospital.
