Husband of Mabel Creser (nee Hilliard, later Wright) of 439 Clinton Street, Toronto, Ontario. The Cresers had three small children, the oldest of which was 8 years of age at the time Creser died. Mabel remarried to Thomas Henry Wright on Septmber 18, 1918

Private Creser was killed in a freak lightning storm that struck the Brigade on June 2, 1916 at Queenston, Ontario, while the Brigade was on a route march from Niagara Camp. 45 other soldiers were severely injured in that storm. One man attended by medical staff had images of tree branches burned into his skin (Battle Royal: Goodspeed, Charters Publishing, Toronto, 1962, pg. 299) Also see Toronto Daily Star, Saturday June 4, 1916, pg. 4
