CVWM note: Son of Timofey Waselenchuk; husband of Winnie Waselenchuk, of 129, Ossington Avenue, Toronto, Ont. Veterans.
Pte. Waselenchuk originally enlisted with the 126th (Peel Region) O.S. Battalion. This unit was broken up to reinforce other units.
His headstone in Toronto is marked as "24th Coy. C.F.C." (Canadian Forestry Corps).
His notice on the Canadian Virtual Memorial also lists the above unit.
Pte. Waselenchuk was "Greek Catholic" - this was the religion of Ukrainian Catholics.
His Ukrainian name "Anton" appears also in the English version "Tony" on the second page of his attestation. "Tony" was typed in on this form, however, a hand written correction indicates the name "Anton".
His grave is in the Veteran's Section of Prospect Cemetery, St. Clair Ave., Toronto, Ont. This section includes a Cross of Sacrifice.
