232 Private Francis A. E. Collins, 19th Regiment, age 30, was accidentally killed
on 2 May 1916. There were no witnesses to the accident, but it was believed that he
was intoxicated about 1 a.m. and had laid down on the rails of the trolley line on
Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls. A passing trolley decapitated him. He was the son
of Joseph Henry and Ellen Collins of Toronto, Ontario. He is buried in St. John‟s
Norway Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario. He had enlisted under the name Frank
Holland.
