Uploader's Research notes: George Buchan was born at Weets, Kennethmont, the illegitmate son of Mary Yule. He was schooled at Kennethmont and later emigrated to Canada. At the outbreak of war he was a member of the Active Militia, the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. He attested at Camp Valcartier, Québec on 23 September 1914 and joined the 16th Battalion ( Canadian Infantry) Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force.
