Uploader's Notes: Served 1908-1910 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade. Son of Capt. William Hunter Cornish (Indian Army) and Maud Cornish, of Barford House, Wokingham, England. Joined the P.P.C.L.I. as a Lieutenant in August 1914 [an original].

CEF Burial Registers - During a bombardment on the morning of June 2nd 1916, he was in the dugout occupied by the Battalion Headquarters Signallers, when a shell came through the roof, seriously wounding him in the head, body and legs. His wounds were dressed and he was later evacuated to No. 10 Casualty Clearing Station where he succumbed to his wounds.
Uploader's Research notes: Joined as an "Original" Lieutenant - Signals Officer 12 Aug 1914. Promoted Captain 29 Nov 1915. Wounded 2 June 1916 multiple shrapnel wounds to head, body and legs. He was in the dugout occupied by the Bn Headquarters Signalers when a shell came through the roof. They were not able to evacuate him until the night of 3 Jun 1916.
