Uploader's Notes: Son of Henry Webb and Jane Webb of Winford, Bristol, England. Enlisted at Winnipeg, Manitoba on 16 December 1914
Uploader's Research notes: Source (jayelbee additions): LAC files [Private Army Canadian Infantry 32nd Battalion B Company Enlisted with 32nd Bn at Winnipeg, Manitoba. Went overseas on February 22, 1915 from Halifax aboard SS Vaderland, (later renamed to SS Southland). Posted to Shorncliffe on arrival in England. The 32nd Bn was later renamed as 32nd Reserve Battalion. Private Army Canadian Infantry 10th Battalion Transferred from 32nd Bn. Was briefly attached to 2nd Field Company, Canadian Engineers in August 1915. Slightly wounded, (shell wound to face) on April 09, 1917. Returned to unit on April 13. Wounded again, (gunshot wound, jaw) on April 21, 1917. Hospitalized in England. Discharged to 9th Reserve Bn. Returned to 10th Bn on September 10, 1917. Was attached to battalion HQ during Passhendaele attack. November 10, 1917, was wounded again, (left shoulder, both legs) when artillery shell made direct hit on Bn HQ. Lt Col D Ormand described this in his battle narrative in Append 12, War Diary, November 1917. Died of wounds at 10th Casualty Clearing Station later that day. ]
