Born in England in 1875. Husband of Lady Evelyn Farquhar, Montague Place, London West, England and Rideau Cottage, Ottawa. Killed at St. Eloi. Educated at Eton College, Windsor, England. Spoke French, Somali and Chinese. Saw action in South Africa 1899-1900 and Somaliland 1903-1904. Joined the P.P.C.L.I. in August 1914 [an original]. Commanded during the mobilization, training and in the operations round St. Eloi. Wounded March 20, 1915 and died the next day.
