Description: This man is a scout, and did most excellent work and accounted for many German with his own rifle, during the attack on VIMY RIDGE on the 9/10th April 1917. He was sent out in advance of a patrol sent down towards BOIS DU CHAMP POURRI to ascertain where the Germans were located. By his coolness and determined sniping he accounted during the times this patrol was out for three snipers, Obviously saving the lives of many of the patrol. On many previous occasions this man has done work of a very high order. He was wounded on the afternoon of the 10th inst. I cannot speak too highly of the general ability and initiative of this man.

Original overseas unit 4th University Company. Joined the P.P.C.L.I. in the field May 14, 1916. Wounded April 10, 1917. Struck off strength April 15, 1917. Invalided owing to sickness or wounds. Later became a Lieutenant.
