RESEARCH INFORMATION
Husband of Victoria Gregory, of 106, King's Rd., Camden Rd., London.
Gregory was single when he enlisted. He had 3 years service in the 67th.
Gregory took part in a trench raid with the 10th Battalion on the night of 26 July 1918. Two dugouts were destroyed (he was detailed with 4 others to carry charges for this work) and Gregory was mentioned for his good work in the 10th Battalion war diary. http://data2.collectionscanada.ca/e/e044/e001086367.jpg
Military Medal, Canadian Corps Routine Order No. 1881 dated 27.8.18. Was one of seven men to receive the MM by this order.
According to 3rd Battalion war diary, 53 ORs wounded between 1 and 13 September, none on the 12th or 13th. Largest casualties 11 OR on the 7th and 30 on the 9th. Battalion HQ was at Upton Wood from the 3rd of the month, and the Battalion was engaged in building and repairing roads and tramways in the vicinity of Wancourt the first two weeks of the month.
