William Thomas Gibbings had been born in England, and enlisted into the CEF in May of 1916. He was with the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles when he was killed on August 26th, as the 5th. C.M.R. was attacking German positions from the Sensee River, near Fransart, France. He was 24 years old.
