[Private Army Canadian Infantry 101st Battalion A Company Sailed with 101st Battalion aboard SS Olympic from Halifax to Liverpool, June 28 to July 06, 1916. The battalion was posted to East Sandling Camp on arrival.

Private Army Canadian Infantry 17th Reserve Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 16th Battalion

Proceeded to France on August 27/28, and attached to the Canadian Base Depot on arrival. Attached to the 1st Entrenching Battalion, September 22-27. Joined the 16th Battalion at Sausage Valley, near Albert, France on September 27.

He was reported missing in action at Regina Trench on October 08/09 by the 16th Battalion. On November 29 he was reported as a prisoner of war at Doignies Feld LZ 2/XIX and wounded in the right side of his lower back. He was later reported as transferred to Fest LZ, Koln, Germany. On January 18, 1919 he was reported as having died of wounds and "cardiac weakness" at Koln on December 21, 1916.
