War Diary of 1st Canadian Divisional Motor Transport on January 30, 1919 in Huy, Belgium states "Lieut. H.L. Smith admitted to No. 50 CCS.". Same Unit's Diary for February 6, 1919 states "Lt. Smith died in Hospital". During this period the Diary mentions many being admitted to hospital - no doubt, the Spanish Influenza pandemic.
