Uploader's Notes: A veteran of the South African (Boer) war. He was the 2nd commanding officer of the 10th Battalion CEF and led them into their first action at Ypres. He was seriously wounded by machine gun fire at Kitchener's Wood and taken from the field. He died of his wounds.
