ONCE CHARGED AS A SPY
Now Swiss Soldier Gives His Life for Country of Adoption
Hamilton, Ont., Oct. 6.- Private Fred Morgen has been killed in action. Morgen, a native of Switzerland, enlisted with the 86th Machine Gun Battalion, but just before sailing he was arrested in Halifax charged with being a spy. He was honorably acquitted, but his battalion had sailed and he joined the 87th Grenadiers. Now, after many months at the front, he has given his life.
